Surface Treatment Technology: DLC & TiN
Evolving Surfaces, Innovating Materials
NPR-RIKEN coating technologies like PVD & DLC have been improved based on a piston ring developments. It is used in too severer sliding condition with high temperature. In such a condition, it is required lower wear, lower friction and better durability.
And it is expected to apply the other mechanical parts.
Currently, it has already applied to some electronic parts and medical equipment parts and we can develop and design any coating according to customer demands.
DLC coating for machine parts
■Long-life, thick-film DLC: Superior performance in sliding properties and wear resistance.
・Reduces wear by more than 50% compared to CrN coating.
・Achieving 5–15 μm thickness through optimized adhesion and unique layering technology.
・Ideal for mechanical parts subject to high surface pressure and harsh lubrication conditions.
DLC coating for medical devices
■DLC developed for medical devices
・Utilizes highly biocompatible titanium in the adhesion layer to guarantee superior bonding strength.
・Ideal for sliding components in artificial joints, catheter parts, and surgical instruments.
Titanium coating for medical devices
■Titanium coating for plastic materials
・Coating to medical-grade PEEK and other resins enhances affinity with cellular tissues.
・Ideal for implantable components such as spinal cages.
■Titanium coating for electronic devices
・Increasing capacitance and extending battery life by forming the surface into a triangular pyramid structure.
・Ideal for implantable components such as electrodes.
