NPR-RIKEN CORPORATION has been a leading global supplier of large-bore piston rings to marine engine builders for over 50 years.
Compatible with current fossil fuels, our piston ring products are finding paths
in compatibility also with such carbon-neutral fuels as LNG, Ammonia, and Methanol, Hydrogen.
To contribute to marine engines that have to continuously meet IMO’s environmental regulations up to 2050, our Marine Division is building up optimized R&D and production system.

To keep up with the development trends of each engine licensor and its licensees, we take the following actions:
1)Proposing a wide variety of prototype piston rings applicable to field tests
2)Conducting rig tests in collaboration with external and public institutions
3)Conducting combustion simulations to estimate impacts on tribological conditions of piston rings, and verifying the simulation results.
